My last day in Austin before I fly out

As usual woke up, only to see a cloudy overcast day. I started thinking, what a waste of my vacation day. I had to make this day worth it and I did. I even walked almost 9 hours, which was not meant to be that much walk.

After dropping off the Siren, we went to Nhas cha's office. I met up with some of her coworkers, then it was my solo day. I walked to different places, some were worth it, some just made me walk. 

The day after Christmas, day to check out Downtown Austin

Got fresh, had breakfast then light lunch and was soon time to go to Downtown Austin. It wasn't pretty from any point, sorta dirty too. One thing though was homeless people everywhere. It stunk some places. We metup with Bikash, then went to the State Capitol. Today was a hot day, it felt like a summer hot day. We weren't dressed that light, we were feeling hot.

After entering State Capitol building, was nice and cool with AC. The building was crowded with people. We looked at few things, took some pictures and decided to get out.

Then it was time to eat some food. We decided to go to Mother's Cafe http://motherscafeaustin.com/ as Nhas cha's coworkers recommended that. We were excited but the food was terrible, it tasted like stale old frozen boxed food. I am not sure, how people gave it a 4 star, maybe it deserves a 1 star. 

Both of the entries were bad. Our waitress never even asked once, how the food was. Then were ordered some ice creeam, coconut but it was Gluten Free. The ice cream was served really weird. It looked the left over ice cream was scraped. It was one of the worst ice cream I had ever tasted. Coconut Ice-cream, how can it go wrong. We had an indelible bad taste in our mouth. We both didn't want to eat anymore. When the waitress came to pick up the check, it didn't asked us once, how the food was. I was a bit disappointed by that. 

We made a stop at http://www.antonellischeese.com/, unfortunately it was closed. After the bad lunch, we headed to Oasis, hoping to have better food and better day. The area was nice with many beautiful sculptures, I had to take pictures of those. 

There was a long line to get into the restaurant. I was asking Nhas cha, why is that. As we entered the restaurant, The Oasis on Lake Travis, I saw the spectacular view of Lake Travis, I wanted to sit down and sip Margarita. That was a wonderful feeling to see that view.

Christmas day, no going out today

We had people coming over for dinner. After breakfast, was time to start cooking and all day went in the cooking. Not a whole lot to write today.

After everyone left, we three sat down, talked about different family stuff. Two of stayed awake till midnight, very tiring after a long day of standing and cooking,

Saturday it is and the day to go visit Enchanged Rocks

We all got ready and headed out to Enchanted Rocks. The drive was beautiful, a different landscape, made me feel like I was in Arizona or I was driving from Sydney to Melbourne at times. It was fun, different feeling than in Dallas. 

As we started our drive, sun started to come out, was a bit warm but not too hot. We reached the ticket counter and I purchased the tickets. We were really hungry and we were not prepared to hike that trail which was only 0.76 miles up. I had high heels with wedges, I had carried a flat pair just in case. That was a wise thing I think, as I hasn't thought at all, I would be hiking in Austin. From the bottom of the trail, we could see people hiking up, they were tiny and scattered.I wished, I was prepared with workout clothes, shoes, bag pack with some water, snacks etc. 

As I was climbing up, I felt my feet started to get a bit sweaty and my flats felt a big slippery. When we climbed the steep side, I was worried about coming downstairs, with my right knee, which hasn't heeled. Overall, was fun to hike. As we reached up, the sun went down and it started to get windy a bit. 

We enjoyed the view, granite rocks, and then soon was time to get down. Nhas cha Bikash took turns to carry Nhuja, as it wasn't that easy, carrying him and hiking that that trail. I was saying to myself, I wish I took more pictures of the rocks, the nature. 

Friday today and a day to go around Austin

I woke up and got fresh and Nhuja cha had been crying, I guess that's his morning ritual. We had a light breakfast, I took a shower and then we went to drop him off to the Day Care. After that we went to grocery shop, and we started getting hungry and came home.

We stayed home, opened up sarees, took pictures and the afternoon passed. Soon, it was time to pick up Nhuja from the day care so we could head to the Trail of Lights in Austin. We were just about 20 minutes early before the gate opened so had to stay in line. I was standing in line while Nhuja went to run and play around in the field with Nhas cha. I met an interesting couple, it was fun chatting and joking with that stranger couple.

The Trail of Lights was fun, it so much light, so much walk in my not very comfortable shoes. But, I made it and the visit was over. We were hungry and tired, all we wanted was to get home and eat. So, the day passed just like that.

Today is the day I am flying to Austin,TX

I have been to Austin before but, it was a really short visit. I am excited to go see places this time. I was tired and didn't head to the gym again today. It was a short day and I got off early so catch my flight as well.

On the way, to the flight I met my friend in the airport tram, it was funny to meet that way. After the security, we both had something to eat, chit chat and then headed out to our Gates. Soon, it was time for me to board and here I am writing this entry.

Online shopping again, this time for dress

I have done so much online shopping this past weeks. Except I have returned a lot of those I received, as it wasn't the same when I received it in real. The stuff I am getting in the next few days, I am not sure how they will be. I hope at least the dresses will look nice and will fit. I have my fingers crossed for that.

The shoes I purchased, I am not sure but ready to check them out, after the Audrey Brook failure. I received the shoes, it was size I normally wear but was super tight and painful. I got 8.5 and came very big. I can' find this shoes anywhere the size I am looking for. I really liked this shoes but it didn't like me I guess.

Friday after my birthday

I wanted to do a Happy Hour every day this week or till next week. I had a plan to meet Melissa and we met are Yard House again. Its cold outside and it was nice to be inside. We didn't order any alcohol however, it was nice to just sit there, eat and talk about different things.

When it was time to pay the bill, I told our server, I guess I will have an icecream cake thingy, on the occasion of my birthday. To my surprise, she brought it all decorated with happy birthday written on it with a candle. It made my evening, I was so happy I gave her 20% tip. She was a good server too.

The plan to travel didn't workout so, I had a backup plan as I was going to be around in MSP. The thought of getting older one more year, woke me up in the middle of the night. As a result of that, I woke up with a bad headache.

Even with that, I went to the gym in the morning before work and then carried on with my day. The day was okay, my FB wall was full of birthday wish. I had some personal text messages as well. I was happy to receive all those. However, unlike the past many years, I didn't have anything new to wear today.

I received my shipments today but wasn't there yet to wear. After work, I went straing to the Sushi place to have dinner with my friend. I had a Tom Yum soup, it was pretty good. Then Sushi while I waited for Marina. Soon after she arrived, we had some Green Tea, more Sushi, chit chat and was time to leave.

She showed me the pictures of a new kitchen in the new house, and asked me, if I wanted to go look at it. I was very happy to do that. However, on the road, we saw an accident and also car getting towed. The car might have had some problem. The house kitchen looked beautiful, soon I am going to have one, I said to myself.

Then after checking out her new house, I came home. The day was nice. One more birthday, celebrated with a friend.
