Sprint Demo, Retro and Planning day

I had fever all night, yet I prayed to feel better and get to work today. I couldn't take a sick day today either.

After a long hectic day, I came home and sat down. I talked to Lobsang for a while and decided now its bed time.

I woke up feeling miserable...

I still had the bad headache, my legs were shaking. I couldn't take a sick leave as today is the last day of the Sprint. I pushed myself, I had no appetite, I was in pretty bad shape. I went for a walk, and I was sorta feeling like I might collapse. I made it to the office fine. I started feeling worse as the afternoon progressed. I left work around 4:15 pm and came home made some soup. I had no energy to go grocery for some nutrient food.

I felt like I have fever and missed my mom.

Labor day today and my last day in NYC

Despite the tiredness, I managed to not sleep well. What could be worse than that. Today, I woke up with a terrible headache. After having breakfast, I wasn't feeling so great anymore so I took shower and started to put some make up on my face, so I would forget the headache.

Apparently, Rabi Pau didn't feel good either today, found out his BP went up. So, it was sorta not so great day, both of us feeling not well. We decided to have very light lunch. Around 2pm, Tsering Dorje dai came to pick me up. It was so nice to see him after 12+ years.

We headed to Doma didi's house and they were surprised when they saw us come together. We sat there, talked joked etc etc. It was a great feeling to be hanging out that way. Last time, I saw them was over two decades ago.

After having some light lunch, we headed to the Sherpa Gumba, and the Tsering Dorje dai dropped me home. He wanted to go sit down somewhere, have something together, I wasn't feeling so hungry and well, I said no.

Around 6:45 pm, we all had dinner and I knew I was feeling nauseous. The ghee was bothering me. By the time, I reached the airport, I felt worse. Before getting into the flight, I was praying, but it didn't quite work. I felt worse and worse, headache, nauseous, threw up. The three hour flight was not  fun at all. When I reached home, I felt relief.

Second day in New York and today is day to see The Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn bridge and the World Trade Center

Sunday
Sleep wise, same story, it was hot last night. I couldn't sleep well. After breakfast, we headed out around noon or so. Bus ride and then the train ride. Our first stop was the statue of Liberty. It was a hot day and the line was super long. It wasn't just one line, I think we were in a line for almost 1.5 hours may be. On the way to Liberty, Rabi Pau purchased a selfie stick. Oh boy, then started our welfie time.

Liberty took the whole day. After that, we headed to the World Trade Center. The line was super long so we decided to skip and walked to Brooklyn bridge. After about 20 minutes of walk we reached and on the way, we had some Starbucks coffee. We were talking, enjoying the view, taking pictures and soon it was dark and we crossed the bridge. It was a long walk on that bridge. After the walk, it was already late, we had to find our way to come back. We couldn't navigate back, which took like half hour to figure out.

Finally we found the station and our subway ride was an hour long one. We were tired and hungry. We skipped the Jamaica Center station and got off two stops ahead. That's where our bus came and after 20 minutes of ride, we were home. It was a great feeling to be home. We had some snack, and then around midnight was time for bed.

NYC trip after 12 years

These days being super stressed has become sorta norm. Some days one thing is not working, some days fixing another thing. So, the week was sleepless and stressful. Finally, the day I had to fly, I was able to fix the issue around 11 am which gave me some relief.

I took the bus and train to downtown as other trips. I reached NYC and Rabi Pau and Sabina Maiju came to pick me up. It was so nice to them. We reached home, had tasty family dinner, chit chat till 11 pm and it was time to sleep.

I had gone there with a thought that, I can get some sleep which didn't happen at all. I couldn't sleep Friday night due to heat. I was so sad, I asked myself why does this always happen to me. The AC decided to not work most of the time.

Saturday
After a not so great sleep, got up around 8am, we all got fresh and had some good home breakfast. We left home around noon and headed to Jones Beach. It was a super nice day, almost no humidity, cool breeze few degrees less than 80. After the beach and some pictures, we headed home. Then we took the bus and train to get to Time Square, Manhattan. The past 12 years, Manhattan hadn't changed much other than the Red Stairs, which didn't exist before. It was nice to sit down, watch the huge billboards, take pictures. After sitting there for about an hour, we headed back to Jackson Heights.

Dinner time as Yak, Momo, Samay baji, Chowmein, yum yum. Then I met my friend Basanta outside with his almost two years old son. After that met Ratna Lal Bajya, and some other people. I didn't get to meet Tsering Dorje dai. After that we headed home, we stayed awake for a bit, watch a movie too and to bed.
